Washington, DC - Today, the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) officially welcomes three new member companies to join the mission of keeping the online world a safer place for kids and their families.
GoBubble empowers the world’s leading organizations and brands who care about creating safer communities to transform users’ digital lives, from kids to grown-ups, with their patent-pending Emotion AI. They are passionate about empowering Trust and Safety teams by delivering sustainable impact through their fully customized unique AI, which understands behaviors and emotions with up to 99% accuracy. Supporting clients in sports, kids’ tech, social, and corporates, the Emotion AI operates across all multimedia including text, audio, image, and video in multiple languages. The team, including former leaders from Google, Twitter, Facebook, and IBM, is passionate about using their AI with heart to help deliver rapid customized content moderation at scale. GoBubble will be represented by Danielle Platten, CEO.
Modulate builds intelligent voice technology that combats online toxicity and elevates the health and safety of online communities. Modulate strives to create safer, more inclusive, and more authentic interactions in online spaces by giving platforms unprecedented levels of insight into the bad activity in their communities and the tools they need to address it. Their goal is to empower online platforms to fulfill their true duty of care, so that users of all ages can socialize online with the same confidence in their safety that we all rely upon when socializing in the physical world. Modulate will be represented by Mike Pappas, CEO and Co-Founder.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), the company behind the PlayStation brand and family of products, is an established leader in gaming and entertainment and has a history of work in the online safety space. As recently as 2020, SIE worked on a collaborative, cross-industry effort on a “shared commitment to safer gaming.” This applied a multidisciplinary approach to combining the benefits of advanced technology, a supportive community, and skilled human oversight, based around the principles of prevention, partnership, and responsibility. SIE will be represented by Cinnamon Rogers, Vice President, Global Public Policy.
“These three companies are making great strides across AI, content moderation, and gaming, which are some of the most rapidly developing and relevant areas for innovation,” said Stephen Balkam, FOSI CEO. “We are very optimistic about the benefits that each of them will bring to FOSI and our continued mission of convening leaders to tackle these challenging topics.”
