Washington, D.C. -- Today, the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) announces that NetEase Games will become its newest member company. NetEase Games is a leading global developer and publisher of video games, with a portfolio of titles and IP covering mobile, console and PC.
The mission of NetEase Games is to create engaging online experiences and original thought-provoking games that leave a lasting impression on players across a range of genres. This membership reinforces the company’s long-standing advocacy for online safety and commitment to providing a trusted, safe and respectful environment for all players.

NetEase Games has been a proactive industry leader for online safety for nearly 20 years and is committed to achieving a healthy and balanced approach to gaming. The company has actively participated in the development of game industry group standards involving parental guidelines for platforms, content self-auditing processes and education on age-appropriate games. NetEase Games also partners with a number of nonprofit organizations to develop and distribute educational resources for parents and legal guardians on how to keep their children safe online.
In 2005, NetEase Games adopted safety measures across its PC games and regularly updates the company’s safety policies. In 2019, NetEase Games launched the NetEase Parent Care Platform in China allowing parental control over gameplay time and upgraded the platform in 2020 with “teenager mode” that limits time and spending. In 2021, the NetEase Games’ Minors Protection Center was established, becoming the first independent center in China dedicated to the protection of minors.
