Policy Intern, Family Online Safety Institute

Kanika Patel is the Policy Intern at the Family Online Safety Institute. She is a second-year Master of Arts in International Relations candidate at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, concentrating in Security, Strategy, and Statecraft. Kanika has previous experience in congressional campaign work, academic research, and university administrative roles, where she supported policy-focused research, and stakeholder engagement. She is especially interested in the ways AI and emerging technologies are creating new challenges for online safety, and in how research and policy can
 help address those risks for children and teenagers.
