Alex Bores is a New York State Assemblymember for the 73rd District and the Legislature’s leading voice on emerging technology. The only New York Democrat in elected office with a computer science degree, Alex has authored landmark AI and digital-policy bills — including the RAISE Act to advance AI transparency and safety, and legislation encouraging state adoption of cloud computing. Previously a software engineer, he helped DOJ and Manhattan DAs solve violent crimes and built Covid-relief software that kept 50,000 families’ heat and water on. A fifth-generation New Yorker, Alex holds a B.S. from Cornell and an M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
