Alexander Macgillivray

Alexander Macgillivray, also known as “amac,” is the US Deputy Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining the federal government, Mr. Macgillivray had a variety of roles at Twitter, including General Counsel, head of Public Policy, Corporate Development, Communications, and Trust & Safety. Prior to Twitter, Mr. Macgillivray was Deputy General Counsel for Products and IP at Google and a litigator with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and is an affiliate at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society. He tweets, blogs, bakes bread, and sometimes codes.
