Anne Collier

Executive Director, The Net Safety Collaborative

A writer and youth rights advocate, Anne Collier is founder and executive director of the US-based nonprofit Net Safety Collaborative and has been chronicling developments in children and teens’ use of the Internet at NetFamilyNews.org since 1999. She has served as an adviser to international youth-serving NGOs and global tech companies since 2009. In social technology’s early days, she served on three national task forces on the subject and later piloted a social media helpline for US schools. Because of her focus on children’s rights of participation as well as protection, Anne’s current focus is on safety by co-design with youth, particularly in regulatory sandboxes aimed at benefiting youth. She co-edited Social Media and Youth Mental Health, which was published by the American Psychiatric Association in 2024.
