Lucha Sotomayor leads the work on child online protection and children’s participation for the Office of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Violence Against Children. She’s the author of ‘Yo, Digital’, ‘Yo, Activista’, and ‘LGBTQué?’ empowering books for children to help improve both the in-person and digital world. Previously, she worked for UNICEF, first in Chile, then at the global level for the Office of Innovation as a Global U-Report Coordinator, and also for UNICEF’s #ENDViolence campaign, putting together a global advocacy strategy to help end violence online. She’s worked for civil society organizations coordinating multiple regional and global networks around empowering audiences to affect positive change.
