Miguel Ovejero Pérez has been a member of Spain’s Senior Civil Service since 2017. He holds degrees in Philosophy (University of Salamanca) and Law (UNED), and Master’s degrees in Democracy and Government (UAM) and Civil Administration of the State (UIMP). After early postings at the Ministry of Labour covering OECD, G-20 and EU affairs, he joined the Ministry for Digital Transformation in 2020. There, as Senior Adviser, he led the preparation and processing of Spain’s transposition of the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive (Law 13/2022) and took part in the Spanish Presidency’s negotiation of the European Media Freedom Act. He has published on audiovisual regulation, self-regulation and the challenges of the current information disorder. Before becoming Head of International Affairs for Audiovisual and Media at the CNMC, he served as Deputy Director-General for the Regulation of Audiovisual Communication Services at the the Ministry for Digital Transformation.
