Rebecca Parlakian serves as Senior Director of Programs at ZERO TO THREE where she directs a project portfolio related to child development, parenting, home visiting, and high quality teaching. She has also developed five early childhood curricula, including the Early Connections parent education program; Problem Solvers, an early STEM curriculum; and Gather Round, a language and literacy curriculum. Rebecca has a special interest in the ways that screen media and technology have the power to influence parent-child relationships and child development. She has partnered with universities and government entities to develop family-friendly language and resources that translate the research into actionable guidance for parents as they consider the potential benefits and drawbacks of early exposure to screen media and technology. Rebecca holds a Master’s degree in infant/toddler special education from the George Washington University, where she taught for a decade as an adjunct professor.
