Tende Amery

Global Youth Council Member , TikTok

Tende Amery is a member of TikTok’s Global Youth Council, where he has represented the UK since being selected for the programme’s first cohort and has been invited back each year since. Through this role, he has worked directly with platform leaders on issues surrounding youth wellbeing, online safety, and digital culture, including speaking alongside the World Health Organization in Geneva and attending the Concordia Annual Summit in New York City on behalf of TikTok.

Born in Uganda and adopted at six months old before being raised in Oxford, Tende is a creator, speaker, and student at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, as well as an alum of United World Colleges. He first gained recognition through his storytelling content online, where his videos have reached millions globally.

Alongside his advocacy work, Tende is currently part of the Baret Scholars programme, through which he has spent the past year travelling and living across seven regions of the world, from the Amazon River to Beijing, exploring culture, identity, and human connection through creative storytelling. He has also appeared on Channel 4’s travel series Worlds Apart.
