Hi! I’m Arpitha, the Trust & Safety Intern at FOSI and a rising senior at American University studying Political Science and Business Administration. I’m especially interested in how law, communications, and policy can work together to protect people—whether that’s through stronger digital safety standards, more equitable immigration policy, or rethinking how we handle intellectual property in the public interest.
My background includes work on civil rights and various policy issues in Congress, digital strategy for campus civic engagement, and hospitality operations at a top IP law firm. I care deeply about clear communication, inclusive systems, and making policy work for the people it’s supposed to serve. Outside of work, I love singing with my a cappella group, exploring Indian culture through music and dance, and chatting about all things live music and pop culture related.
After graduating college, I hope to work in a legal or policy-oriented job for a couple of years before attending law school to pursue my JD.
