Erin McNeill is founder and president of Media Literacy Now, a national grassroots organization seeking state-by-state policy change to ensure that all children learn comprehensive media literacy skills.
The effort began with a bill in Massachusetts that would prioritize media literacy in education. Since then the movement has expanded to two more states where legislation is currently moving – New York and New Jersey – and partnerships and chapters announced in four additional states as the initiative moves south and west across the country.
Erin worked as a journalist in San Francisco and in Washington DC - where she covered economic and environmental policy - and writes frequently about the influences of media messages on children and our society.
