Karen Ressmeyer is Director, Family Trust for Amazon Kids – the team that creates digital and hardware products for kids and families, including Amazon Kids, Amazon Kids+, Parent Dashboard, Fire Kids Edition tablets, and Echo Dot Kids Edition. Karen and her team bring decades of expertise in privacy and online trust & safety to Amazon Kids, where they work to ensure the products continue to earn the trust of families around the world.

 Before joining the Amazon Kids team, Karen was an associate general counsel in Amazon’s legal department, where she specialized in privacy and consumer protection law. Karen has been with Amazon since 1998 and was the third attorney hired by the company. During her time as an Amazon lawyer, Karen worked as a digital pioneer in variety of areas, including children’s privacy, user-generated content, third-party selling, marketing, copyright, trademarks, and domain names. Karen received her B.A. from Stanford University and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
