As technology becomes more and more of an integral part of our lives, it can often be difficult to separate our experiences online from the rest of our lives. This adds another layer of complexity to our interpersonal relationships and allows us to relate to others in new ways.

2021 is upon us. It’s a fresh year with new possibilities, but this one feels a bit different. Last year put us all through a series of difficult life experiences that left a lasting impact on how we interact with one another and the world.

When we started Think Before You Type (TBYT) in 2012, Victoria was 14 and Lauren was 16. At the time, we were teenage sisters who had recently observed the negative effects of cyberbullying on our peers and wanted to do something to change that. One night, we sat down to talk about the cyberbullying that we saw on social media, and the idea for TBYT was born.
