Marlene Holzner is communication advisor of EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger and within this position, responsible for the AVMSD, media freedom and AV regulators (ERGA). She has already held the post of spokeswoman for Commissioner Oettinger in his previous mandate (2010-2014). A graduate from the London School of Economics and Political Science, Marlene worked for more than eight years as a journalist for national print media and TV in Germany and Brussels (German business weekly "WirtschaftsWoche, Austrian State Television "ORF") before joining the European Commission. From 2007-2010 she was a press officer in the Directorate-General Development. Marlene is a German native speaker from Merano, Alto Adige.
