Peder Magee is a senior attorney in the Division of Privacy and Identity Protection in the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Bureau of Consumer Protection, and he works on a variety of privacy litigation and policy matters. Mr. Magee is the principal author of the March 2012 FTC Report, Protecting Consumer Privacy in an Era of Rapid Change, which sets forth the Commission’s new privacy framework. He is also the principal author of the staff report on the FTC’s self-regulatory principles for online behavioral 2 advertising. From September 2015 to November 2016, Peder was on detail with the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee. Peder received his J.D. from George Washington University and his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.
