Scott Surovell was elected as the State Delegate for the 44th District in November 2009 and was sworn in on January 6, 2010. He current serves on the Science and Technology Committee, the Counties, Cities, and Towns Committee, and the Militia, Police & Public Safety Committee.

In 2013, Scott was appointed by the Minority Leader to be the Political Director & Campaign Chairman for the House Democratic Caucus.

In 2014, Scott was appointed by the Speaker of the House to the Broadband Advisory Council.
